September 20th will be the inaugural episode of the SRT sponsored webinar series ”At the cutting edge of mRNA therapeutics.” This series will showcase the work of leaders in the RNA therapeutics field and will offer a platform for discussion surrounding the challenges and innovations surrounding RNA therapeutic technologies. This episode will feature the innovative work of Dr. Lior Zangi.
Modified mRNA (modRNA) is an effective and safe vector for gene-based therapies since it poses no risk of genome integration, has rapid and transient expression, and is minimally immunogenic. Dr. Zangi’s group utilizes modRNA-based therapies to promote cardiac regeneration following myocardial infarction and heart failure. They have also developed and refined optimized methods for modRNA synthesis and delivery. Dr. Zang will discuss updated methodology with improved applications of mRNA therapeutics in cardiovascular disease.
